Schalke and Lokomotiv Moscow are in a desperate need of three points after a poor start to the Champions League campaign. Schalke can finally look forward to some positivity after ending a horrendous start to the Bundesliga campaign with a win during the weekend. Schalke did show a lot of nervousness as they held on for a win over Mainz 05. Now, the trip to Lokomotiv Moscow may have to yield three points if Schalke are to remain in the race for the knockout stages.Schalke 04 vs Lokomotiv Moscow Live Match Streaming | Uefa Champions League 2018/19

The confidence provided by the weekend’s victory may be able to get the club to a win over the Russian team, who have been struggling for form under Yury Semin. I would opt for a draw.
Schalke may have struck the woodwork twice in the recent game against Mainz 05, but they are likely to be cautious in this away match. Lokomotiv Moscow just had three shots on target in the first group game against Galatasaray and I do not expect great offensive things out of the Russian team. I would back under 2.5 goals in the match.
Eder is a Portuguese footballer who helped A Seleccao win their first ever major title as he scored a late goal against France in the 2016 European Championship final. Eder was born on December 22, 1987 in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau, but he eventually decided to represent Portugal on the international stage and, no doubt, that proved to be the best decision of his life. Speaking of his club career, the 190-cm-tall attacker played for the youth team of ADC Ademia from 1999 to 2006 and in 2006 he moved to Oliveira Hospital. He player for the likes of Tourizense, Academica and Braga in Portugal as well before joining Swansea City in the summer of 2015. Eder made his Premier League debut on August 8, 2015 in a 2-2 draw with Chelsea, but it has to be noted that he failed to find the net for the Swans in the English top flight. After failing to impress at Swansea City, Eder joined Lille on loan in the 2016 January transfer window and four months later he signed a permanent deal with les Dogues.
Schalke 04 are a professional football club founded in 1904. Die Knappen (The Miners) compete in German Bundesliga and they have won seven domestic titles. Schalke have clinched five German Cup trophies as well, while lifting the UEFA Cup title in 1997. The German club defeated Italian side Inter on penalties in the title game and that was the last time the final of the competition was played in a two-legged format. Schalke 04 play their home matches at Veltins-Arena, the stadium that has been the home of the team since 2001. The capacity of Veltins-Arena is 62,271. It is well known that Borussia Dortmund are Schalke’s main rivals and the Ruhy neighbours face each other in the Revierderby. The likes of Klaus Fichtel (477), Norbert Nigbur (355), Rolf Russmann (304), Klaus Fischer (295), Olaf Thon (295) and Herbert Lutkebohmert (286) are the players with most appearances for die Knappen. The colour of Schalke’s home kit is blue.
This Wednesday’s game between Lokomotiv Moscow and Schalke, comes from Group D, the one group which doesn’t exactly set the pulses racing with Porto and Galatasaray the other participants. While it may lack a real giant of European football, it does promise to be one of the most competitive groups and these two teams could both do with a result here after failing to win their opening games.
Lokomotiv had a really miserable time of it in Istanbul on match-day one. The Russian champions, who are the top seeds in this group, were beaten 3-0 by Galatasaray. It was actually their first game in the competition since 2005 so there will be a real buzz around their first home game back on Europe’s top table although their performances so far this season don’t necessarily suggest that they belong here, with Lokomotiv only 6th in the Russian Premier League.
Their start to the season at least has bettered that of Schalke. They’ve taken just 3 points from their opening 6 Bundesliga games and are only one place off the foot of the division. Therefore already it feels like a decent run in Europe may be Domenico Tedesco side’s best shot of salvaging something from this season but they could only draw their opening Champions League match against Porto.
